Netledge™ Portfolio to be extended to optimise 3G voice & data service delivery

Stand D138, Hall 1, 3GSM World Congress, Barcelona, 14th February 2006 – CommProve, the world-leading provider of real-time radio QoS network monitoring for 2, 2.5 and 3G networks, today announced its plans to expand its Netledge™ product portfolio to provide operators with further insight into 3G voice and data service performance.

Netledge™ will be extended to not only monitor 3G radio QoS to safeguard optimal voice delivery, but will also monitor the effective provision of mobile data services including web browsing, gaming, video streaming, VoIP and instant messaging. The two products, Netledge Radio QoS and  Netledge Packet Switched Services, are due for launch later this year.

By monitoring 3G radio QoS, Netledge™ will play a particularly valuable role to network operators, by monitoring 2G, through 2.5G and 3G networks simultaneously. CommProve can therefore effectively monitor network handover when 3G subscribers roam into areas of patchy coverage, who then subsequently need to rely on GSM/GPRS for voice and data services.

“Optimal UMTS performance is a key challenge to operators in Western Europe and Asia,” explained Adam Tarshis, VP Business Consulting at CommProve. “We have therefore reengineered our product architecture to quickly and accurately identify and report network glitches so operators can implement rapid optimisation solutions.”

Tarshis continued: “As mobile data services become increasing popular and 3G subscriptions continue to increase, it is vital that operators proactively identify and resolve network issues that could negatively impact their subscribers’ expectations. Our technology provides key insight into the performance of the core and radio network and highlights how factors effecting data service delivery – low throughput, server overload and network congestion can be resolved.”

CommProve has the largest global install base of network wide monitoring systems.
